The National Test Agency has announced the dates for 13 centralized competitive exams. As per the Union HRD Ministry’s direction, the exam calendar has been given well in advance to give students time to plan and prepare for the exams. The centralization of the exams for higher education will relieve the burden of conduction them from examination boards like CBSE and AICTE.
All exams except NEET are to be conducted online. JEE (Main), UGC NET and NEET are to be conducted in multiple sittings, providing students a choice of dates to take the exams; JEE (MAIN) and UGC NET will be conducted twice before the beginning of the academic year.
The cycle of tests will begin in December 2019 and end in June 2020. They will be conducted in cities all over India. The NTA has requested that other examination bodies to avoid these dates and prevent a clash of exams.
A country wide network of Test Practice Centers (TPCs) is also being established. Students will have an opportunity to have a firsthand experience of the Computer Based Tests (CBTs) starting from September 1st, 2019. The agency will also provide secure and encrypted software to deliver the test on time, and ensure no leaks and other malpractices.
