Courses Description

The noble profession of nursing covers a large area of the healthcare sector.  However, the nursing jobs seems to be exciting, but it is challenging, hardworking and respectful jobs which includes comprehensive responsibilities of patients and their care and treatment. A Loving, dedicated and gentle nature are more important and necessary requirement, rather than the on-paper qualification to become a nurse. To become a nursing professional one should have immense patience to take care of the physically weak, injured, infants, old patients and also mentally challenged patients effectively. 

COURSE, DURATION & ELIGIBILITY:

The courses in nursing includes:

  • Diploma courses

  • ANM (Auxiliary Nursing & Midwife) – 18 months

  • GNM (General Nursing & Midwife) – 3.5 yrs

  • UG Degree courses

  • B. Sc – Basic (Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Basic) – 4 yrs

  • B. Sc – Post Basic (Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Post Basic) – 2 yrs

  • B. Sc – Distance (Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Distance) – 3 yrs

  • PG Degree courses

  • M. Sc (Master of Science in Nursing) – 2 yrs

  • Doctoral courses

  • M. Phil (Master of Science in Nursing) – 1 yr (Full time)

  • M. Phil (Master of Science in Nursing) – 2 yr (part time)

  • Ph D (Doctor in Philosophy) – 3 to 5 yrs

For admission to ANM course, the candidate must be 10th class passed with 45% and should have age between 17 – 35 years. The minimum qualification is 10+2 with 45% marks in science subjects in some institutes. For admission to this GNM course, the candidate must be 12th class passed with 45% and should have age between 17 – 35 years. 

B.Sc nursing is the very popular and required degree for the full-fledge nurse. It has two levels, one is basic and another is post basic. For admission in bachelor courses, the candidates need to have the 12th pass certificate with science subjects with minimum 45% marks. You may have to go through the entrance exam conducted by the university.

FUTURE SCOPE:

Nurses never remain unemployed. They can easily get job in health care organizations and hospital. You may get the government job easily.
