Courses Description

Homeopathy is developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), a German physician. It is based on the principle that “like cures like”. In simple words, it means that any substance, which causes symptoms in a healthy person, can cure similar symptoms in a person who is ill. The patients are taken care by enhancing the natural healing power of the human body. The concept of homeopathy is that the body renders healthy again by itself because of its self-healing power. We just need to help it by enhancing the natural healing power. Homeopathy is the third popular medication system in India, after the allopathic and the Ayurveda system. According to this system the emotions, mind and body are interlinked and remedies which effect on them will seem to fit for the patient. The person fell sick or have a disorder and suffering if he is out of the harmony of the above three. The homeopathic medicines are given to the patient based on their physical symptoms, emotional problems and lifestyle. And the best part of this medication system which makes it valuable among the others that there is no side effect on the body with these medicines.

COURSES, DURATION & ELIGIBILITY:

Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) is an undergraduate degree course in homeopathic system. This degree is awarded after the completion of five and half years academic program containing the 4 and half year academic session and one year internship program with live practical. The undergraduate program in homeopathic system can be pursued through the distance education system.

                   The basic requirement for the eligibility to get the admission to BHMS program is qualifying the 10+2 examination with 50% marks. The candidate must have the physics, chemistry and biology in 12th class. The candidate should have to go through the different national and state level entrance examination. The candidate should have minimum seventeen years old. Some states conduct the entrance examinations along with the MBBS and BDS test. The selection of the candidate is based on the final merit as the sum of the total numbers obtained in the qualifying examination in 12th and the number scored in the entrance examinations followed by the personal interview. There is other courses in this field also.

  3. Post Graduate Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery
  4. Master of Doctor in Homeopathy
  5. Doctor of Medicine (Homeopathic)

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:

The candidate having the BHMS degree is eligible to be called as a doctor and eligible to do the private practice. Candidates can also become faculty members in government colleges after completing BHMS course. But for this, they have to clear the UGC NET for employment in colleges. Candidates can also seek employment as health officers and community medical officers in various government organizations and pharmacies. The career opportunity after completing BHMS is in abroad also. Many organizations working on the manufacturing and research in abroad require the professional in this field. A large number of people are not satisfied with the allopathic treatment. This gives the birth to the alternative treatment. Many people are looking for the complete cure of the disease and moving to homeopathic doctors because this medication system has no side effect. Due to this factor many homeopathic graduates are encouraged to open or establish their own clinic for self-practice.
